New Zealand left-arm orthodox spinner Ajaz Patel created a record by taking all ten wickets in a Test innings against India.
Ajaz achieved this feat during the first innings of the second Test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai.
Playing only his 11th Test for New Zealand, Ajaz bowled 47.5 overs in the innings with 12 maidens and conceded 119 runs for his ten-wicket haul.
He became only the third player after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble to take ten wickets in a Test innings in the 144-year of Test cricket history.

Patel dismissed ten of the 11 Indian players in the innings, barring only Umesh Yadav who survived the two deliveries he faced from Ajaz.
If the left-arm spinner manages to get Yadav’s wicket in the second innings, he would become the only bowler in the last 20 years to take wickets of all 11 players of the opposition.
Ajaz took these 10 wickets during the first innings:
- Mayank Agarwal — Caught behind
- Shubman Gill — Caught out
- Cheteshwar Pujara — Bowled
- Virat Kohli — Leg before
- Shreyas Iyer — Caught behind
- Wriddhiman Saha — Leg before
- Ravichandran Ashwin — Bowled
- Axar Patel — Leg before
- Jayant Yadav — Caught out
- Mohammed Siraj — Caught out
His achievement was commended by the cricket fraternity all around the world. Former Indian Test captain, Anil Kumble, who himself holds this record, was among the first ones to congratulate the Kiwi bowler.

Former India head coach, Ravi Shastri believed it was ‘unreal’ and ‘so good to be true.’
One of the toughest things to do in the game of cricket. To have an entire team in your kitty in an innings is too good to be true. Simply unreal. Well done young man – Ajaz Patel #INDvzNZ #AjazPatel pic.twitter.com/M81eUeSrX4
