The ninth edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 is currently underway, and all six franchises of the league have at least one Pakistani player in their squad.
However, those Pakistani players who are drafted in the national T20 or ODI side will return to the country by September 12.
The tournament started on 26 August, with a game between reigning champions Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Basseterre, the capital city of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
A total of nine Pakistani players are taking part in the league, including senior players, i.e., Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Hafeez.

Veteran all-rounders, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shoaib Malik are representing Guyana Amazon Warriors. Hafeez has previously for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the league.
Dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman, Azam Khan, has also made his CPL debut. He has been one of the most successful batsmen of the tournament so far. He and fast bowler Mohammad Amir are representing Barbados Tridents.
The left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz and young leg-spinner Usman Qadir are part of St. Lucia Zouks’s squad. This is Usman’s first CPL assignment, while Wahab Riaz has previously played the league for Barbados Tridents.
Talented middle-order batsman, Haider Ali is in the Jamaica Tallawahs squad. However, the right-arm batsman has failed to make an impact as he has failed to cross the 20-run mark in the first six innings of the tournament. Notably, this is his first franchise T20 assignment outside PSL. He last played in the KPL for Overseas Warriors.
