Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after consultation with the head coaches of six regional Cricket Associations has announced Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021 Squads.
The marquee tournament, the crown jewel of Pakistan’s domestic circuit, will be played from October 20, 2021, to December 29, 2021, in four cities; Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Karachi. Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan will host the first five rounds, while Karachi will host the last five rounds and the final.
The tournament will be devoid of star cricketers and regular captains, i.e, Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Imad Wasim, as they will be busy in the ICC T20 World Cup.

In their absence, Imran Butt, Azhar Ai, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nauman Ali, Fawad Alam and Mohammad Abbas will lead Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab respectively.
The three-month-long tournament will follow a round-robin format, meaning each team will play the other twice in the 10-round group stage.
“The first five rounds will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad and Multan Cricket Stadium, while the last five rounds and the final will be played in Karachi with UBL Sports Complex, SBP Sports Complex and NBP Sports Complex staging the round matches,” the PCB said on Friday.
National Stadium will host the five-day final that will be played between 25 to 29 December. The 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy edition produced some thrilling cricket with the final, which was also played at the National Stadium, turning into a historic tie between Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
