Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim has announced Pakistan’s T20I and ODI squad for the home series against West Indies.
The 17-member ODI squad has left out former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Ali Agha, and Hasan Ali. They have been replaced by Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr in the ODI squad.
Similarly, Sarfaraz, Shoaib Malik, and Imad Wasim, and Hasan Ali have also been dropped from the T20I squad, and Mohammad Hasnain added, while the number of players reduced from 18 to 15.

Talking about the squad, Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said:
“As we have been playing T20Is since October and now have a pretty settled and balanced side, we have decided to reduce the number of players to 15. As such, we have not included Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shoaib Malik.
“For the ODIs, which we last played in July, we have accepted the team management’s request and provided them two additional resources.”
About Hasan Ali’s exclusion, Wasim said that he was rested for the home series after consultation.
“Taking into consideration that he has been playing non-stop cricket since returning from a back injury, we have decided to give him time off from this series.”
