The 25-year-old opening batter is leading Pakistan into the T20 World Cup 2021 for the first time. So far, Pakistan have won four Group 2 matches on the bounce under his captaincy, cementing a semifinal berth in the process.
Namibia was the fourth team after India, New Zealand and Afghanistan to have been crushed by Pakistan in Group 2 matches. It all started when the Green Shirts made history against archrivals India, by handing them a humbling 10-wicket defeat in Dubai last Sunday.
This was their first-ever win against the neighbours in any world cup match since 1992. New Zealand were the second team to get thrashed, followed by Afghanistan and Namibia Tuesday.
