Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday announced the revised schedule for the National T20 Cup 2021 after New Zealand’s abrupt cancellation of the Pakistan tour.
The tournament was initially scheduled to start from September 30 from September 25 in Multan, but will now start two days ahead of schedule in Rawalpindi.
The tournament has been divided into two phases; the first phase will be played from September 23 to October 1 2021 in Rawalpindi. The second leg will be played from October 4 to 11 at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
The event will feature six teams; Northern, South Punjab, Central Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan.

The event will feature all national players who are available after the cancellation of the New Zealand series.
New Zealand was scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is during a three-week-long tour to Pakistan, which could their first in 18 years. However, the scenario quickly changed after the Black Caps unilaterally abandoned the tour citing an unnamed security threat on Friday.
Despite their decision, the government of Pakistan provided the team with presidential-level security to escort the team to the airport from the hotel, from where they took a chartered flight to depart for Dubai.
With the series gone to waste, the PCB has decided to fill the gap with the National T20 Cup 2021, which will have a star-studded show thanks to the availability of national players.
