The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also announced its squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2021.
The squad includes no major surprises as this is more or less the same squad that beaten Australia, and New Zealand recently on home turf.
However, the only notable absence is of veteran opening batsman Tamim Iqbal who refused to be part of the world cup team. Tamim in a recent interview had said that he did not want to be part of Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup squad because he did not deserve it.

Tamim, who has been out of action for the most part of the year due to the injury, said he wanted a deserving young player to go to the World Cup instead.
The 15-member squad, subject to change before October 10, will be led by all-rounder Mahmudullah.
The squad is an excellent mixture of young and senior players, including former captains Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Left-arm quick Mustafizur Rahman will lead the fast-bowling department, well-supported by Taskin Ahmed, and Saifuddin. The spin bowling department will mostly rely on Shakib, Mahedi Hasan, and Shamim Hossain.
