Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan has stepped down from the post, a PCB statement said on Wednesday.
The brief statement did not reveal the reason for his resignation four months before the completion of his tenure.
“As is the process, the BoG will meet later today to consider the matter,” it added.
His sudden resignation came weeks after the cricket board elected former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja as its 36th chairman.

Word is that the CEO was not happy with his powers curtailed after the appointment of Ramiz. He had been the show-runner of the cricket board since his appointment and wanted things to remain this way.
His nearly three-year term, however, did a lot of good for the cricket in Pakistan. Wasim and his team not only overhauled the domestic cricket, but he also brought PSL back to Pakistan and invited several international teams, including South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the country.
