The Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced that fully vaccinated fans will be allowed in cricket stadiums at 25 percent capacity.
The 15th edition of the world’s most expensive league will start later this month. The tournament will be played in the western Indian cities of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune from March 26 to late May, with 10 teams taking part in 70 league matches across four venues. VISIT HERE
The state government of Maharashtra said on Thursday that “an attendance limit of 25 percent has been put in place as the number of Covid patients is decreasing.”

This is an encouraging move as the last season of the IPL was initially played behind the closed doors, before being moved out of India due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
“A decision has been taken to admit only those who have taken two doses of the vaccine,” the statement added.
“The tournament coming to the state ensures that the games aren’t played overseas,” Maharashtra tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray said in a tweet on Wednesday, calling it a huge boost for the local economy and morale.
